🏔 Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Nairobi → Mount Kenya (Sirimon Gate – Judmaier Camp / 3,300m)
Depart Nairobi at 08:00 AM and travel toward Nanyuki, the gateway town to Mount Kenya. After equipment checks and lunch, drive to Sirimon Gate and begin a gentle 3-hour trek through lush equatorial forest filled with colobus monkeys and birdlife.
Overnight: Judmaier Camp (3,300m)
Highlight: Easy acclimatization hike in the afternoon.
Day 2: Judmaier Camp → Liki North Valley (3,990m)
Ascend through the Sirimon trail into the scenic Liki North Valley, surrounded by towering volcanic ridges and ancient parasitic cones.
Overnight: Mountain Camp (3,990m)
Highlights: Panoramic alpine wilderness & steady acclimatization pace.
Day 3: Liki Valley → Shipton’s Camp (4,300m)
Continue trekking out of Liki Valley and into Mackinder’s Valley, one of the most dramatic valleys on the mountain, home to giant groundsels and unique Afro-alpine vegetation.
Overnight: Shipton’s Camp (4,300m) with views of Batian & Nelion peaks.
Day 4: Summit Day – Point Lenana (4,985m) → Mackinders → Met Station (3,000m)
Start your pre-dawn summit push to reach Point Lenana, Mount Kenya’s most accessible peak, in time for the sunrise. Enjoy sweeping views over the plains and surrounding peaks. After descending to Mackinders Camp for breakfast, continue down to Met Station.
Overnight: Met Station
Highlight: Sunrise at 4,985m — perfect for photography.
Day 5: Mount Kenya → Samburu National Reserve
Descend through the forest to the park gate, then drive north to Samburu Reserve, famous for Northern Kenya’s unique wildlife species. Enjoy an afternoon game drive.

Day 6: Full-Day Game Drives in Samburu
