Day 1: Nairobi → Mt Kenya Bandas (2,900m)

Distance: 10 km | Time: 3 hours | Ascent: +650m

Depart Nairobi at 08:00 AM, travel through Kenya’s highland farmlands to Chogoria Town for lunch. Afterward, transfer with a 4×4 vehicle to the forest edge where the trek begins.
Walk through scenic bamboo and montane forest to reach Meru Mount Kenya Bandas, your overnight spot.
Dinner & Overnight: Mt Kenya Bandas

 

Day 2: Mt Kenya Bandas → Lake Ellis (3,600m)

Distance: 9 km | Time: 3 hours | Ascent: +700m

Hike at a relaxed pace with a choice of routes:

  • Via Lake Ellis for sweeping views of Mugi, Ithanguni & Giant’s Billiards Table

  • Along the river for rich vegetation and water-side scenery
